Different Web Pages For Different Visitors
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Everytime you visit a website, you are sending information about your computer and internet connection to the server. It’s not your credit card or other personal or private information but information on what type of web browser you are using.
For example, if you’re using Microsoft Internet Explorer, it sendsout ID similar to Mozilla. Web crawlers from different search sites send out browser ID strings that identify them as crawlers. The strings are such as:
Partial Browser ID String Search Engines
Googlebot/2.1 Google
msnbot/0.3 MSN Search
Yahoo! Slurp Yahoo! Search
When requesting web pages, the search engine crawlers will identify themselves to the web servers. Some people think that by producing a highly optimized custom keyword version of a standard web page for the crawlers are legitimate.
When visit the website, we will see only standard content, but search engine will see completely different web pages.
You should not use this trick because it is definitely cheating. When Googlebot, Yahoo! Slurp or other search engines ocassionally send false credentials to compare the received page and found the two pages are different, you could face penalty or you website will be banned .
