Step 1: Domain name (Dot Com)

First of all you have to register your domain name. Domain name is the name of your business on the internet equivalent to a shop signboard. It is a name that will differentiate your website from the other websites. Preferably the name should be related to your business. Domain name can be .com, .net, .org and etc. If you want your website to last, you should register your own domain name with a reliable webhosting company, rather than building a site from the free hosts. It would also make your business looks more professional and that you are also serious with your business. The easiest way to register your domain name is with any webhosting company.

Step 2: Web Hosting

After you’ve registered your domain name, you’ll need a web hosting company so you can start creating your web pages. Web hosting is a company that provides you a base for you to run your business where they have servers connected 24/7 to the internet so everybody can access your website. Without them there will be no websites exist. They are responsible to provide space for your web pages, emails, order forms, message boards and all the other requirement to have your websites published. You can find them just by typing the word “web hosting” from any search engine. Browse through the packaged offered and choose the ones that suit you the most.

Step 3: Website

After all the above, it’s time to create your own website. You need to have a website to introduce your products or services to the world. The best way is to observe other websites or your competitors and note down the ones you prefer, something similar that you might want to put on your website but please I strictly advise don’t ever carbon copy other peoples’ work.

In short we can describe the above as:-

Domain name = Your shop address

Webhosting = The base/foundation of the shop

Website = Your shop
