Why Search Engine Is Important?

Why do we need to bother about search engine? The simplest answer to this question is it’s the single most important source for new visitors to go to a certain website.

People said that most website visits came from searh engine. Yes, it’s true but that was few years back and many people depend and use the following statistic, 80 % of all website visits came from search engine. However, in 2003, the number has decreased to only 50 %.

Most website visitors go to the intended website by typing in the URL into their internet browsers and also by going directly to the website from the link from another website that directed them there. Most visitors now doesn’t reach their destination by searching from the search engines.

However, search engines are still very important because:

• Eventhough only 50 % not 80 %visits come from search engine, it’s still a large number.

• Most new visits come from search engine. The other 50 % that doesn’t originate from the search engines are revisits or the visitors already know where to go.

• Some studies indicate that a large number of buyers come from the search engines. Normally if people are looking for products to compare, they probably search from the search engines.

• The search engines is the cheapest way of advertising or marketing. It’s free to submit and to get listed in their directory.
