How To Cloak Your Affiliate Link

Hi Friends,

For a newby like me, the topic above would be like a big thing but actually it is so simple. I learned this from Jeremy Palmer’s blog.

What you need to do is open up a new notepad file and key in the command such as below:

header("Location:http://www.youraffiliatelink.com");

?>

Change the youraffiliatelink.com with your actual affiliate link.

Next step is save the file and name it as what ever file name that you want but in php format. Normally it would be the product that you want to promote. If you save it from notepad, the default would be a txt extension. Don’t save it just yet. You need to go to File > Save As and then you have to manually key in the filename in the File Name column and type .php at the end of the filename. So the filename would be filename.php.

Next, ftp the file to your server and save it in the main directory depending on the web host that you use. It could be public_html folder or htdocs folder.

So if you want to create a link for the affiliate link above, the link would be:

http://www.yourdomainname.com/filename.php

When somebody click on the link above, he/she will be redirected through your affiliate link. If you want understand it better, watch the free video made by Jeremey Palmer here.
