Quick Way To Add Google Adsense Search Results In WordPress Blog
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Mightysearch is a Wordpress plugin that could instantly add Google Search Results in your Wordpress blog. You just need to activate the plugin after you install it and then create a new page. You can name the page whatever you want. I name it Google Search.
Add a mightysearch tag either mightysearch (to call search form and search result), mightysearch_form (to call the search form) or mightysearch_result (to call the search result).
I’ll show you step by step what you need to do below.
1. First, download the mightysearch plugin. FTP to your server the mightysearch.php file to wp-content > plugins.
2. Login to your Wordpress blog and at the Plugins tab, activate the mighty search plugin.
3. After you’ve activated the plugin, go to Option tab and you can see the mightysearch tag. Click it and you can see the “Your Search Form Code” and “Your Search Result Code” columns. You need to log in to your Google Adsense Account to get those codes.
4. Go to Manage > Pages > Create New Page. Name the new page whatever you want. I name it as Google Search and write down the tag, either mightysearch, mightysearch_form or mightysearch_result in the page content. Don’t forget to save the page.
5. Login to Google Adsense Account > Adsense Setup > Adsense For Search. Here you can select how the search form would look like either Google WebSearch or Google Websearch + SiteSearch (enter your blog / website URL if you select this option at the column given). Change the box style also if you wish.
6. At the same page remember to check the “Open results within my own site” option and customize the “Enter width of results area” box to fit in to your web page. The default is 700 px. Enter where the URL of where the search results will be displayed. It should be at http://www.yourdomainname/google-search based on what your new search result page is. It’s the one that you created in your Wordpress blog in step #4. Mine is at http://www.howinternetbusinessworks.com/google-search. If you’re not sure, go to your website and click on the new page that you’ve created. Copy the URL in the browser and just paste it in the column. Click the “Continue” button below.
7. You’ll come to a page where you can tweak the color of your search results page. After that just click the “Continue” button below.
8. The codes for the search box and the search results will be display in this page. Copy both of the codes into your Wordpress mightysearch option in step #3. Use the search box code to put where the search box would be located in your blog to your liking. Just play around with the mightysearch tag in your search result page that suits you the most.
